Introduction
The United Lounge at Atlanta International Airport, Terminal A, has a sleek and modern design. You'll find the entrance directly across from Gate T11 in the main concourse, accessible only by elevator.
Seating Area and Comfort - 4
The lounge is medium-sized, and during my visit, it wasn't too crowded—thanks to Hurricane Helene, which had cleared out much of the airport the day before. The atmosphere was relatively quiet, with most of the noise coming from a nearby Coca-Cola vending machine.
Business Center - 4
There’s a small area dedicated to business needs, featuring private phone kiosks.
Charging Facilities - 4
You'll find numerous charging ports spread throughout the lounge, offering both AC and USB options. However, USB-C ports are not available.
Natural Lighting - 5
Located on the upper level of the main concourse, the lounge benefits from large windows running the entire length, allowing plenty of natural light to flood in.
Staff Friendliness - 5
The staff were typically warm and welcoming, even wishing me a blessed day—a touch of Southern hospitality.
Washroom Cleanliness - 5
The washrooms were clean and well-maintained during my visit.
Food Variety - 2
The lounge offers standard breakfast options, including scrambled eggs, a selection of Danish pastries, both sugary and non-sugar cereals, oatmeal, bagels, and some cold cuts. The eggs were decent, but I noticed the tray was stored in a way that made it tricky to open without getting a blast of steam. Be cautious when lifting the lid. If you’re hungry or looking for your last sweet tea fix, this lounge may not fully satisfy your cravings.
Bar Selection - 2
I was pleasantly surprised to find a limited selection of wines and three varieties of draft beer available as early as 10 a.m.
Conclusion - 3
This lounge is a nice retreat if you want to escape the airport's hustle and bustle. I recommend sitting by the window to enjoy views of the airport activity. A note of caution: the lounge uses paper plates and plastic cutlery. Hopefully, the plastic is biodegradable, as I didn't notice a dedicated recycling bin—just a general garbage bin.
